WOMEN'S GOLF TEAM WINS HAWKEYE INVITATIONAL
IOWA CITY, IOWA - The Indiana University women's golf team started the day in first place and finished the day in first place. The Hoosiers fired consecutive rounds of 307 to win the Hawkeye Invitational in Iowa City, Iowa, with a two round total of 614. The win marks the second straight week the Hoosiers have claimed victory. Last week, IU won the Indiana Invitational.
Four of the Hoosiers five golfers finished in the top 10. Senior Erin Carney wrapped up her third tournament of the season, firing rounds of 72 and 79 for a total of five over-par 151 and a three stroke victory over teammates Theresa McDermott, 154 (79-75), and Tiffany Fisher, 154 (80-74). Michelle Hatfield rounded out the foursome, finishing in fourth place with a score of 155 (76-79).
The Hoosiers have a week off before the Big Ten Championships on April 30, May 1 and 2, in Lafayette, Indiana.
