Hoosiers Pick Up Third Win Of Weekend Led By Carpenter's Goals
Bloomington, Ind.--The Indiana Women's Water Polo team handed Michigan its first loss of the weekend, en route to a 8-2 victory in the second evening match of the 1999 Holiday Inn/Tortilla Flat Indiana Invitational. With the victory, the Hoosiers improved their record to 13-12.
Kristen Carpenter once again led the Hoosiers with a three goal performance. Carpenter's first came mid-way through the second-period while the other two came early in the third. With 6:37 to play in the third quarter, Carpenter scored. Then with 3:13 to go in the third, she got her second hat trick of the day.
IU also used goals from five other players, including one from senior Jodi Bushing, who was playing in her last regular season home game for the Hoosiers.
In the other evening match, Michigan State defeated Wisconsin 10-2.
