HOOSIERS INCH CLOSER TO LEAD AT BIG TEN'S

Carney and McDermott lead the charge for IU
WEST LAFAYETTE, IND. - The Indiana University women's golf team is just four strokes back of the lead at the 1999 Big Ten Women's Golf Championships. The Hoosiers fired a third round of 311, giving them a total of 941 (314-316 311), and leaving them just four shots behind leader, Ohio State, 937 (310-313 314).
Senior Erin Carney began the day in second place, one stroke off the lead, and finished the day tied for first. Carney shot a six over-par 78 to give her a total of 228 (75-75-78) and a share of the lead with Natalie Mosher 228 (77-78-73) of Ohio State and Amber Amstutz 228 (74-75-79) of Ohio State.
Theresa McDermott moved up from ninth place into a tie for fifth with a third round score of 76, giving her a total of 234 (78-80-76).
The tournament concludes tomorrow with 18 holes to be played beginning at 8:00 a.m.
