Bloomington, Ind. ­­ Indiana baseball coach Bob Morgan coached the 900th victory of his career Wednesday when the Hoosiers dumped Valparaiso, 14-2, at Sembower Field.
Morgan became the 28th coach in NCAA history to achieve the 900-win plateau.
"It's a great reflection on the great players, assistant coaches and people we've had here," Morgan said.
Morgan is in his 16th season at the helm in Bloomington and has coached for 23 season overall.
Indiana (36-14) jumped out to a 4-1 lead in the first with home runs by Dan Haegele and Doug DeVore.
Indiana pounded five Valparaiso pitchers for 16 hits, four Hoosiers getting more than one hit. Indiana scored in six of the eight innings in which it batted.
