HOOSIERS SIGN DALY FOR FALL
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Indiana University Head Volleyball Coach Katie Weismiller has announced the signing of Kristen Daly to a national letter of intent to play volleyball for the Hoosiers this fall.
Daly, a 5-11 outside hitter, will join the Indiana squad after an outstanding prep career at Queen of Peace High School in Burbank, Ill. During her senior campaign, she led her team to a 35-5 record and the Girls Catholic Athletic Conference Volleyball Championship (GCAC), earning team MVP honors. She was named to the Chicago Sun-Times first team and the Southtown Economist all-Area team. Daly was also selected to the Champaign News all-State team.
Daly is a honor roll member at Queen Of Peace and earned Illinois Scholar/Athlete honors. She was a 1999 Chicago Park District Junior Citizen Nominee.
Daly plays club volleyball for Second City in Chicago.
Coach Weismiller is impressed with Daly's style of play. "Kristen
is a smart player," said Weismiller. "The balls she hit are smart.
She knows how to use the block, see the block and cut around the block.
She will be a great addition to our team.
