HOOSIERS FINISH IN SECOND PLACE

Carney grabs title and Big Ten honors
WEST LAFAYETTE, IND. - The Indiana University women's golf team finished the 1999 Women's Golf Big Ten Championship in second place, turning in scores of 314, 316, 311 and 310 for a total of 1251, 12 strokes behind winner Ohio State, 1239 (310-313-314-302).
The Hoosiers were led by senior Erin Carney, who took home the medalist honor for the second year in a row, after firing a final round of one over-par 73 to give her a total of 301 (75-75-78-73). With the win, Carney also was voted to the All-Big Ten team and was awarded the Big Ten Player of the Year honor for the second consecutive year.
The Hoosiers will next participate in the NCAA Women's Golf East Regional
to be held Thursday through Sunday, May 6-8, at the University Club in Blythewood,
South
Carolina.
