GOLF IN 14th AT WOLVERINE INVITE
Ann Arbor, MI. -- The Indiana men's golf team is in 14th place after
the
first two rounds of the Wolverine Invitational.
The Hoosiers were led by Brent Landry who fired rounds of 76 and two-under
par 70 for a two round total of 146 (+4). Steve Wheatcroft was in second
place after the morning round as he carded a 3-under par 69 but he slipped
to a 79 in the afternoon round to finish in a tie for 30th at 6-over par
148.
It was a difficut day for playing as high winds played havoc with the
course in the morning and most of the afternoon play was conducted
in a steady rain.
Minnesota leads the tournament with a team score of 7-under par 561.
The
Gophers' James McLean, who is the defending NCAA individual champion,
leads the tournament with a 10-under par score of 132.
Other Indiana finishers include Corey Sullivan at 153 (T60), Jon Barry at 156 (T81) and Rich Thomas at 161 (T19).
