BOOS HIRED AS ASSISTANT COACH
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Indiana volleyball head coach Katie Weismiller announced today the hiring of Dave Boos as the program's new assistant coach. Boos replaces former assistant Anne Kordes who left to become the assistant coach at the University of Illinois.
Boos, a native of Delafield, Wis., will be responsible for a number of administrative functions at IU, including team travel, equipment and recruiting.
Boos comes to Indiana after having spent the past four years as an assistant coach at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. While there, he helped coach the Titans to a 1996 NCAA Division III Volleyball Final Four appearance and a 1995 WIAC Conference Championship.
In addition to his coaching duties with the women's program, Boos also headed up the Wisconsin-Oshkosh men's volleyball club team as both a coach and player. From 1997-99, the club team won three-consecutive Wisconsin Volleyball Conference Championships with Boos being named 1998 WVC Player of the Year in 1998.
Boos graduated from Wisconsin-Oshkosh in January 1999 with a degree in Biology.
"We are thrilled to have Dave join are staff," said Weismiller. "His enthusiasm for the game will bring a lot to our program. We look forward to his contributions on the court, in the office and in recruiting."
"I am excited to join the Indiana volleyball program," Boos
said. "This is a great opportunity for myself and I look forward to
contributing to and helping the team out."
