HOOSIERS PLAY EXHIBITION GAME AT SAINT LOUIS

Bloomington, Ind. -- The defending national champion Indiana soccer
team plays the first of three exhibition games Saturday night in Saint Louis.
The Hoosiers, who will be defending their NCAA title this season, are ranked
No. 1 in the first two preseason polls of the season. Saint Louis is also
ranked among the top 20 teams in the nation.
"We've just been praticing since Tuesday, but this should be a good
test for us," Indiana head coach Jerry Yeagley said. "We want
to be able to look at different players and see where we are at and find
out waht we have to work on before the season starts."
Three preseason All-Americans ­ seniors Aleksey Korol and Yuri Lavrienko
plus junior Nick Garcia ­ lead the team.
Korol was the Offensive MVP of the Final Four last season while Garcia was
named the Defensive MVP of the event. Lavrinenko has a good chance at becoming
the school's all-time leading assist man with a good season.
Kickoff at Saint Louis' new on-campus soccer stadium is slated for 7 p.m. (CDT).
