Bloomington, Ind. -- Indiana was selected as the number one "Amazing Story" heading into the 1999 season in The Sporting News' College Football Preview issue dated August 23, 1999.
Said TSN, "Five teams that could shock and amaze college football cognoscente this season:
1. Indiana. Cam Cameron has 19 starters back, including stud quarterback Antwaan Randle El (pictured). This team was 4-7 a year ago but four of the losses were by a total of 26 points. The Hoosiers are posed to post their first winning mark since 1994."
Also, sophomore tight end Craig Osika (ankle) and senior running back Frankie Franklin (hamstring) returned to practice today during the team's sessions at Marshall, Ind.
Redshirt freshman guard Enoch DeMar and sophomore linebacker/defensive end Herman Fowler are two young players who have impressed coaches during workouts at Marshall.
The following players missed at least one of today's three practices:
Senior guard Matt Snyder (back spasms) did not practice and is listed as day-to-day.
Junior defensive end Jeff Robinson suffered a mild head injury during Thursday's practice. He is expected to return to action on Saturday.
Junior defensive tackle Gordon Bramel suffered a mild head injury during the first of two Friday morning practices. He is also expected to return to action on Saturday.
Redshirt freshman linebacker Donnie Buck is expected to miss several weeks with an ear injury.
Indiana will conduct three practices at Marshall, Ind., on Saturday and will return to Bloomington on Sunday. An intrasquad scrimmage is tentatively scheduled for Friday, August 27 (time TBA).
