Bloomington, Ind. -- The Indiana University football squad returned to practice today for an hour-and-one-half practice session today on the practice fields next to Memorial Stadium. In attendance were approximately 300 family and friends of IU football players.
Cam Cameron quotes following today's practice:
On last night's scrimmage: "Well, we found out last night that we are certainly fortunate we didn't have to play a game today. We have to learn how to play faster. We have to learn that just because you set up a game situation doesn't mean that everything automatically gets faster and that you aren't automatically going to play better. We really weren't very good in the kicking game, on offense, or on defense. We quickly realized we had to get out here today and get some things done, and the tempo today was better, but we've really got a long way to go."
On the Penn State-Arizona game: "We watched it as a team. Obviously, as we thought, Penn State is a very good team. It certainly showed you that it doesn't matter where you are ranked. What were they, the number three and four teams in the country? It's hard to believe there's a 41-7 difference between two teams so closely ranked. I do know that Dick Tomey will do a really good job getting Arizona back on track."
On any individuals who pleased him in the scrimmage: "I couldn't single out anybody. No one stood out and everyone needs a lot of improvement. Everyone needs to get better in a hurry."
On injuries: "No one is seriously hurt at this point. Jamil Frink has a medial knee sprain and could be out for a couple of weeks and Sean Nelson has a knee injury that he had scoped which will keep him out for several weeks. Brian Lewis has a stress fracture in his pelvis."
