The Hoosiers: The Mastercard Collegiate Golf Rankings rank I.U.
24th in their preseason poll as the 99-00 season begins. Coach Sam Carmichael
starts his 20th season as head coach and will be looking for someone to
fill the big shoes of graduate Erin Carney. Carney, whose credits include
1998 Big 10 Player of the Year, 1998 I.U. Female Athlete of the Year, and
Medalist honors at the 1998 Big 10 Championships, was a big contributor
to the team's success last year and will be truly missed. Senior Theresa
McDermott (79 avg.) and junior Tiffany Fisher (78.4 avg.) will lead a host
of newcomers this season as the team looks to compete for the Big10 crown.
