MEN'S GOLF TEAM IN WEST LAFAYETTE FOR NORTHERN
Tournament Data: The I.U. men's golf team will participate in the Northern Intercollegiate this Friday and Saturday in West Lafayette, IN. The tournament is to be held at the par 72, 7,253 yard Purdue Kampen golf course, the same course that is holding the 1999-2000 Big-Ten Championships. The Hoosiers will play a total of 54 holes with 36 on Friday (start time 8:33 a.m.) and 18 on Saturday (start time 8:00 a.m.).
The Teams: (13) Akron, Ball State, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Marshall, Miami (OH), Michigan State, Ohio State, Penn State, Purdue, Toledo, Wisconsin.
The Hoosiers: Indiana is coming off a third place finish at the
the 1999 Hawkeye Invitational with strong performances from freshman Aldo
Jordan-King (11th place tie) and junior Steve Wheatcroft (15th place tie).
Coach Mike Mayer has made one adjustment to the lineup this week adding
senior John Barry to the traveling squad.
" It's nice to see John Barry in the lineup this week," Mayer
said. "He hasn't seen action in while but is an important player for
us and needs to be playing."
Steve Wheatcroft, Aldo Jordan-King, Corey Sullivan, and Ben Davidson will join Barry this week as they play in their second tournament of the season.
