The Coaches
Marshall Goss is in his second season as the Indiana head men's
track and field coach and program coordinator and is in his 17th
season with the Hoosiers.
Randy Heisler is in his second season as the women's track and
field coach and is in his 11th season with the Hoosiers.
Coaches' Outlook
Indiana head men's track and field coach and program coordinator
Marshall Goss:
"We are trying to get as many individuals ready to race
and compete as possible. We are coming off of some injuries and
are working toward getting everyone healthy to compete. This
should be a great meet for the spectators as it should be decided
by just a few points."
Indiana head women's track and field coach Randy Heisler:
"Michigan is the two-time defending Big Ten champions.
Last season we competed against them and lost by just 10 points
and our team knew that we could compete at that level. Last year
we finished third at the Big Ten championship, so we know that
we are within striking distance. This will be a good test for
us, a win would help immensely, psychologically for this team."
Looking to Shake the Jinx
The Indiana women's track and field team will look to shake the
jinx of Michigan as the Wolverines swept the Hoosiers in the
90's defeating the women six times in the decade.
The men have defeated Michigan the last two times the teams have
met, including a 150-144.5 victory in a four-team meet last season.
Brown Takes Home Honors
Jennifer Brown set an Indiana school record and provisionally
qualified in two events in the first meet of the season last
weekend and was named Big Ten Women's Track & field Athlete

(4:54).
Brett Tipton and Nathan Purcell will try to lead the Hoosier
