Looking Ahead: Wednesday, February 2, is national letter-of-intent signing day for football. Head football coach Cam Cameron will hold a press conference at the Assembly Hall press room at approximately 5:00 p.m. that day to announce Indiana's signees. Biographies of the signees will be posted on the official IU web site (www.athletics.indiana.edu) at approximately 5:00 p.m. that day.
Randle El practicing with baseball team: Indiana quarterback and 2000 Heisman Trophy frontrunner Antwaan Randle El is currently practicing with the IU baseball team and is expected to play for head coach Bob Morgan's club this spring. Randle El was a 14th-round selection of the Chicago Cubs in the 1997 amateur draft. Indiana opens its 2000 campaign on Friday, February 18, in San Diego where the Hoosiers are scheduled to play San Diego State, Oklahoma State (Feb. 19), and Kansas State (Feb. 20).
Elisara to play in TYCO Gridiron Classic: Senior left tackle Pita Elisara will play in the second-annual TYCO Gridiron Classic on Saturday, January 29. The game, which will be played at the Citrus Bowl in Orlando, Fla., will be televised by ESPN2. Elisara will play for Team USA in the Team USA vs. Team Florida format.
Important Dates: Voluntary offseason conditioning has begun. Official strength and conditioning workouts begin February 8.
