Mandina Selected to Play in Blue-Gray All-Star Game

Bloomington, Ind. -- Indiana University senior defensive tackle Paul Mandina (Rochester, N.Y./Webster) has been selected to play in the Kelly Tire Blue-Gray Game which will be played in Montgomery, Ala., on December 25, 2000. The game will be televised by ABC Sports.
Mandina, who will graduate in December with a management degree from the IU School of Public and Environmental Affairs, earned honorable mention honors from the Big Ten Conference following the 2000 season. A co-captain, Mandina started 11 games at defensive tackle this past fall and finished the campaign with 40 tackles, including three for loss, four pass deflections, a forced fumble, and two fumble recoveries.
Indiana head football coach Cam Cameron served as a co-head coach for the Blue team in the 1997 Blue-Gray Game.
Mandina is the second IU player to be selected for an upcoming post-season all-star game. It had previously been announced that senior safety Johnny Anderson has been selected to play in the Rivals.Com Hula Bowl Maui All-Star Football Classic which will be played in Maui, Hawaii, on Saturday, January 20, 2001. The game will be broadcast on ESPN.
