Hoosiers Fall to Louisville
Louisville, KY - The men's tennis team dropped its second straight match today with a loss to #52 Louisville 4-3. The Hoosiers started the day by winning the doubles point, but were only able to win two singles matches.
The #32 Hoosiers (5-2, 1-1) took two of the three doubles matches to start the day. At No. 1, Ian Arons and Gabriel Montilla defeated Paulo Carvalho and Cody Conley 9-8. Paul Jacobson and George McGill, playing at No. 3, were victorious over Brent McCombe and Alex Sivertsen 8-6.
In singles, Arons won his match over Joachim Lien 6-2,6-2 at the No. 2 position. At No. 4, McGill picked up a win against Carvalho 6-2.6-2
Head Coach Ken Hydinger said, "We just got to be tougher. We can't have anybody on the team hang their heads when they are down. We wee making a run at being a good team, then a couple of teams came at us hard and we were not able to handle it."
The Hoosiers will try and return to their early season success when they host Austin Peay and Murray State next Saturday. The match against Murray State will begin at 9 a.m., followed by a 2:30 p.m. match against Austin Peay.
