HOOSIERS PREPARE FOR TWO CONTESTS

IU returns to Indiana to face off against IUPUI in Indianapolis
on Tuesday. Wednesday the Hoosiers return to Bloomington to play
Wright State.
Competition
IU beat the IUPUI Jaguars in the Hoosiers' first contest of
the season, 10-1. The Jaguars recently traveled to Tulsa, Oklahoma
to compete against Oral Roberts. IUPUI was swept in the four
game series, and are now 3-14 for the season. The Wright State
Raiders are 7-14 this year, and are returning from their spring
trip in Homestead, Fl.

Head Coach Bob Morgan
Bob Morgan is in his 17th season at Indiana. He has posted
a 627-348-3 record while with the Hoosiers and owns a career
mark of 919-436-5. He currently ranks in the top ten nationally
amongst active Division I coaches in career winning percentage
and in the top 20 in career victories. Furthermore, Morgan has
never suffered a losing season in this is 25th year as a collegiate
head coach.
No Hitter Spoiled
Dave Ferris struck out four and allowed no hits for six innings
against Penn State. Unfortunately for the junior hurler, the
Nittany Lions came together in the seventh to get five runs off
three hits, and beat the Hoosiers 5-4. Ferris now has an ERA
of 2.14, and a record of 4-0 (Chris Wilson was given the loss
against PSU).
In the (Strike) Zone
Indiana pitchers have struck out 221 batters in 228.2 innings
of work this season. They have walked 104 for a strikeout to
walk ratio of 2.13. Over the last eight games the Hoosiers have
collected 71 K's.
Homerun Derby
At Penn State, Gibran Hamdan and Joe Sadler each collected their
first collegiate home runs. Blake St. Clair sent his third of
the year over the wall. St. Clair's grand slam made him the team
leader in RBI this season (20).
