Women's Tennis End Season With Lose To Baylor
Austin, Texas - The women's tennis team's season came to an end today with a loss to 19th-ranked Baylore 5-1 in the first round of the NCAA Tournament in Austin, Texas.
The Hoosiers began the day with singles, and were only able to pickup a win by Zahra Ahamed. Ahamed defeated Frida Borjesson 6-2,6-1.
The Hoosiers lost the other five singles matches and with the mach already decided the doubles matchs were not played.
Head Coach Lin Loring said, "We knew with our lineup that they (Baylor) would be very tough. We had to play our No. 8 and No. 9 singles players from a month ago at No. 5 and No. 6 today, but we battled hard. I think we represented ourselves and Indiana University very well today and I'm proud of our kids."
The loss ends the season for the Hoosiers with a 14-12 record.
