IU Women in Fifth at Completion of Day One
Minneapolis, Minn.-- The Indiana women’s golf team finished fifth in the group of sixteen teams on the first day of competition at the Northern Invitational. The event is 54 holes, 18 each day. After Friday’s 18, Indiana had a team score of 314. Three Hoosiers finished in the top 20. Senior Natalie Tucker led the way for Indiana, shooting a 76 (38-38). She is tied for fifth place overall. Tiffany Fisher (38-40) and Adrienne Graessle (39-39) finished tied for 11th place with scores of 78. With a score of 82 (38-44), Cara Stuckey finished tied for 47th place. Danah Ford, who shot an 83 (42-41), tied for 57th place and rounding out the scoring for the Hoosiers was Karen Dennison with an 86 (44-42). Only five strokes separate IU from top scoring Purdue, who leads the pack with a team score of 309. Indiana starts the second day of action tomorrow with tee times beginning at 8 a.m.
