Indiana Water Polo Signs Top Recruit
Bloomington, Ind.-- Indiana University Women's Water Polo Head Coach Barry King has announced the signing of one to the team for next season.
Courtney Livak (San Jose, Calif./Willow Glenn H.S.) signed a National Letter-of-Intent to attend Indiana University and play water polo for Coach King.
Livak lettered all four years in high school and was a four-time All-C.I.F./C.C.S selection that included being picked for the first team in her junior and senior seasons. She was also named to the San Jose Mercury News High School Girl's Water Polo team in her junior and senior seasons. Livak was also the only person to ever win three consecutive Blossom Valley Athletic League Most Valuable Player awards after she earned the honor in her sophomore, junior and senior seasons.
She was the team captain for each of the last three seasons and is the school's all-time leader in goals with over 250 in her career.
Livak was also selected to the Northern California Zone team that participated in the California State Games. She also competed with the Pacific Zone team in the National Selection Camp in Los Alamitos, Calif this past summer. She also represented the Pacific Zone at the 2-meter development camp at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo.
In addition to water polo, Livak also lettered three seasons in soccer and swimming and also lettered one year in both basketball and diving.
"We are extremely excited and proud to have Courtney as a Hoosier," said King. "She caught our attention in her sophomore year and is one of the top high school seniors in the nation. We look for her to have an immediate impact as soon as she steps on the IU campus. She has excelled on the playing field and in the classroom and has a work ethic that is outstanding."
