Indiana Women's Golf Team Leading the Way After Day One
Houston, Texas - After 36 holes of golf, the Hoosiers find themselves in first place among the 18 teams participating in the GTE "Mo"morial hosted by Texas A & M. With a score of 603, Indiana leads the pack by 10 strokes, with Oklahoma's 613 good for a second place standing.
The Hoosiers had good overall performances with senior Natalie Tucker finishing in second place on the day. Tucker shot a 147 (75,72), just two strokes behind leader Allison Johnson. Red-shirt freshman Danah Ford shot a 151 (75,76) in a tie for fifth place overall. Senior Inga Snyder shot the best round of the day among the Hoosiers with a 71 over the first 18 holes. Snyder finished tied for eighth place with a 152 (71,81). The final score for Indiana came from junior Tiffany Fisher who shot a 154 (82,72) on the afternoon. Fisher is tied for 13th overall.
Red-shirt freshman Cara Stuckey also competed but only the top four scores count in the team standings. Stuckey is tied for 48th place with her score of 162 (82,80).
Indiana finishes tournament action tomorrow with the final 18 holes. Tee times begin at 8 a.m.
