Indiana Announces Hiring of Assistant Coach

Bloomington, Ind. - Indiana field hockey head coach Amy Robertson announced today the hiring of Gina Lucido to her coaching staff, as the Hoosiers' assistant coach. She will join the Hoosiers on June 1 and begin work immediately.
Amy Robertson is excited about having Lucido on her staff. "I am thrilled to have hired an assistant coach with Gina's level of experience and commitment to excellence."
Robertson looks forward to building the program with Lucido. "I am confident that she will make an immediate impact on building the IU field hockey program. With her experience she will be able to assist with absolutely every phase of the program including all administrative duties, on-field coaching, and recruiting. Gina was an intense competitor as a player and I believe she will bring that same kind of drive and determination to coaching the IU field hockey team."
Lucido arrives in Bloomington with an impressive resume from her previous coaching stints at Susquehanna University in Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania and Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania. While at Susquehanna, she doubled as an asssistant field hockey coach and served as the head lacrosse coach. As a field hockey coach, she was the primary recruiter on the coaching staff and coordinated the defense as well as the pre and post-season conditioning of the team.
From 1995 to 1997, she was an assistant field hockey and lacrosse coach at Bucknell. She was primarily responsible for recruiting and off-season training. Since 1995, she has been the head coach of the USFHA Futures Program in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
Lucido played college field hockey in Muncie at Ball State University from 1991 to 1994. While playing for the Cardinals, they were a two-time Mid-American Conference champion and a two-time NCAA quarterfinalist. En route to earning her bachelor's degree in musical theatre, she was a three-time all-MAC Academic selection and a CFHCA Athletic/Academic All-American in 1994.In addition, she was the first recipient of the Edith Patton Memorial Scholarship Award at Ball State in 1994. The award honors the school's student-athlete who has excelled academically and athletically and embodied outstanding character, exemplary leadership and overall personal integrity.
