Hoosiers In A Tie For Second After Day One
Iowa City, Iowa -- The Indiana women's golf team is making a run at yet another tournament crown this spring as the Hoosiers find themselves in a tie for second place after the first 36 holes at the Hawkeye Invitational. Indiana, tied with host Iowa, finished with a two-round total 608, seven strokes behind tournament-leader Michigan.
Freshman Karen Dennison, competing in her first team competition this spring, leads the way for the Hoosiers. Dennison is tied for eighth place with her score of 151 (70, 81). Her round of 70 was the lowest round shot on the day as well as a career best for Dennison.
Three other Hoosiers finished among the top twenty golfers, all in a tie for 16th place. Seniors Natalie Tucker and Inga Snyder, as well as freshman Ambry Bishop all finished with a 36-hole total of 153. Bishop is competing as an individual and does not count towards the team total. Contributing to the team score were junior Tiffany Fisher who shot two rounds of 77 to finish in a tie for 21st place and redshirt freshman Cara Stuckey, finishing with a 156 (78, 78) in a tie for 28th place.
Indiana will look to battle back into the lead in the final round of 18 holes tomorrow. Play begins with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m.
