Hoosiers Finish In Second Place at Hawkeye Invitational
Iowa City, Iowa - The Indiana women's golf team shot a 311 over the final 18 holes at the Hawkeye Invitational to finish in second place with an overall score of 919. The Michigan Wolverines shot an impressive three-round total of 902 to come away with the tournament crown.
Again for the Hoosiers, senior Natalie Tucker led the way finishing in a tie for eighth place with a 228 (75, 78, 75). Tucker has been the top shooter for the Hoosiers in every tournament this year, finishing out of the top ten golfers only once. Including Tucker, four Hoosiers competing in the team competition finished in the top 20. Junior Tiffany Fisher shot a 76 in the final round to finish in 15th place. Freshman Karen Dennison shot an 80 over the last 18 holes to finish with a 231 in a tie for 16th place. In a tie for the 20th spot, senior Inga Snyder finished with a 233 (75, 78, 80). Redshirt freshman Cara Stuckey, finishing in a tie for 31st place with a 238 (78, 78, 82), was the fifth and final score to count towards team competition for the Hoosiers.
The Hoosiers have now finished in first or second place in four of the five competitions this spring. Indiana will look to continue on the winning track as the team travels to Ohio State for the Lady Buckeye Invitational April 21st and 22nd.
