Hoosiers Finish Fifth at Buckeye Invitational
Columbus, Ohio. - The Indiana women's golf team was uable to combat the record-setting play of the Ohio State Buckeyes as the Hoosiers shot a final round of 307 to finish in a tie for fifth place at the Lady Buckeye Invitational. OSU shot a 284 over the final 18 holes, a school record for a single round.
Three Hoosiers finished in a tie for 14 place among the individual golfers. Seniors Natalie Tucker and Inga Snyder and freshman Karen Dennison all finished with a three-round total 229. The 14th place finish as well as the 54 hole total were career bests for Dennison. Redshirt freshman Danah Ford shot a 78 in the final round to finish in a tie for 33rd place with a score of 239. Ford's score was the fourth and final score to count towards the Hoosier team totals.
Junior Tiffany Fisher and redshirt freshman Cara Stuckey also competed in the tournament. Fisher shot a 241 (80, 82, 79) in a tie for 41st place and Stuckey finished with a 244 (79, 82, 83) in a tie for 48th place.
Indiana will compete in the Big Ten Tournament hosted by Minnesota in Minneapolis, Minn. Next weekend April 28th and 29th.
