Indiana Women's Golf In Second Place After Day One of Competition
Minneapolis, Ind. - The Indiana women's golf team shot two impressive rounds to finish with a 604 after 36 holes at the Big Ten Tournament, just two strokes behind tournament-leader Michigan State. The four Hoosiers to count in the team scoring all finished among the top 20 golfers.
Junior Tiffany Fisher leads the way for Indiana in a tie for eighth place with a score of 150 (74, 76). Mollie Fankhauser of Ohio State and Allie Blomquist of Wisconsin lead all golfers with a two-round total of 147. Indiana senior Natalie Tucker follows closely behind Fisher in a tie for tenth place with a score of 151 (79, 72). Freshman Karen Dennison is in a tie for 17th place after day one with a score of 154 (77, 77). The final score to count towards the Indiana team total is a 155 (77, 78), shot by senior Inga Snyder. Snyder is tied for 20th place.
Redshirt freshman Danah Ford and true freshman Ambry Bishop are among the six golfers competing for Indiana. Both finished tied for 26th with totals of 157 on the afternoon.
Indiana continues Big Ten Tournament action Saturday, April 27th, at 9 a.m. at the University of Minnesota Les Boldtad Golf Course. One round of 18 holes will be played tomorrow.
