Hoosiers Drop to Fifth Place After Third Round
Minneapolis, Minn. - The Indiana women's golf team struggled a bit in the third round of the Big Ten Tournament, shooting a 318 over 18 holes for a total of 922. The Hoosiers are in fifth place after 54 holes of competition and will play the final round tomorrow. Indiana trails the leader, Michigan State, by 11 strokes.
Junior Tiffany Fisher continued to play strong for Indiana, shooting a 78 on the afternoon. Fisher has a three-round total of 228, good for a share of third place among the individual golfers. Senior Inga Snyder shot a 76 on today's 18 holes and is tied for 13th place with a 231. Senior Natalie Tucker had a rough afternoon, shooting an 83 to finish with a 234 and a tie for 20th place. In a tie for 25th place, freshman Karen Dennison was the final score to count towards team competiton for the Hoosiers. Dennison shot an 83 in the third round for a total of 237 in the tournament.
Redshirt freshman Danah Ford and true freshman Ambry Bishop are among the six golfers competing for Indiana. Ford shot an 81 and is tied for 28th place while Bishop shot an 84 and shares the 35th spot.
Indiana continues Big Ten Tournament action with the final 18 holes on Sunday at 8 a.m. at the University of Minnesota Les Boldtad Golf Course. The winner will be the Big Ten automatic qualifier for NCAA competition.
