Indiana Rebounds To Finish In A Tie For Second Place
Minneapolis, Minn. - Despite falling to fifth place after three rounds at the Big Ten Tournament, the Indiana women's golf team shot a 308 over the final 18 holes to finish in a tie for second place. The tournament champion, Michigan State, shot a four-round total 1219 to finish 11 strokes ahead of Indiana and Northwestern.
Three Hoosiers finished among the top 20 golfers, junior Tiffany Fisher leading the way. Fisher finished tied for fifth place with a 305 over the 72-hole competition. Senior Natalie Tucker moved up ten places to finish in a tie for tenth place with a 308. Tucker shot a final round of 74 to lead Indiana on the last day. With a fourth round score of 78, senior Inga Snyder took a share of 14th place with a 309. Freshman Karen Dennison shot a 79 on the last 18 holes to finish in 27th place overall.
Redshirt freshman Danah Ford and true freshman Ambry Bishop competed in the conference tournament as well, their scores not counting towards the Hoosier team total. Ford finished in 28th place with a 317 and Bishop tied for 37th place with a 321.
Indiana will compete in NCAA Regional competition at Purdue University May 9-11.
