Bloomington, IN - Coach Mike Davis and the Indiana basketball team are still reaping the rewards of last season's Big Ten co-championship and the eighth Final Four appearance in school history."When you have the kind of year that we did last year, the worst thing that can happen is for the team to get complacent," Davis said. "But our guys have worked all summer and have not let up during this first week of practice. It's great to see such a solid effort."
Davis cited redshirt freshman forward Sean Kline as one who has stood out thus far.
"Kline has looked real good," Davis said. "We challenged him during preseason conditioning, and he has stepped it up."
Indiana fans can catch the Hoosiers in action as part of a special football-basketball doubleheader Saturday. The IU football team, fresh off its 32-29 victory over No. 22 Wisconsin, hosts No. 15 Iowa at 11:10 a.m. The Hoosier men's and women's basketball programs will be recognized at halftime for their outstanding respective 2001-02 seasons. The men's basketball team will then hold a 3 p.m. scrimmage at Assembly Hall that is free and open to the public. Doors open at 1:45 p.m.
