Hoosiers Ready for "Meet-and-Greet" at College Mall

Bloomington, Ind. -- In conjunction with local radio stations WBWB-96.7 FM and the newly named Hoosier Cream and Crimson country station, WHCC-105.1 FM, members of the Indiana University men’s and women’s soccer teams will hold a meet-and-greet session at College Mall in Bloomington on Thursday, Oct. 10, from 7 to 9 p.m. Both B97 and Hoosier Country will be on site at the main area of the mall in front of Lazarus. The public is encouraged and invited to attend.
In addition to live radio interviews with coaches and team members, the event will include posters and other IU soccer memorabilia for players to autograph, soccer video games, a fooze ball table, soccer juggling contests and other activities.
Representatives from the men’s soccer team include: All-Americans and National Player of the Year candidates Ryan Mack and Pat Noonan, preseason All-American and first-team All-Big Ten selection John Swann, 2001 first-team All-Big honoree Phil Presser, junior midfielder Vijay Dias, who scored the game-winner in overtime against Michigan this last Sunday, and freshman Brian Plotkin, who was a high school All-American. The Indiana men’s team is currently 8-1-2 on the season and ranked No. 4 in the nation.
The Hoosier women's soccer team currently sits in fifth place in Big Ten standings with the promise of a return to Big Ten Tournament action on the horizon. Participating in the events from the women's team will be junior co-captain and All-Big Ten second team midfielder Emily Hotz along with Dana Philp, Kate Kastl, Jenny Mann and Robin Barker. The team boasts a seven-game undefeated streak when playing at Armstrong Stadium.
Indiana soccer hosts a pair of Big Ten Conference doubleheaders this weekend, beginning on Friday night when the IU women face Michigan State at 5 p.m. The IU men will immediately follow at 7 p.m. when they face Wisconsin. On Sunday, the men’s team will lead off the doubleheader with a 2 p.m. start against Northwestern. The women’s team will cap the weekend as they face Michigan at 4 p.m. All games will be played at Bill Armstrong Stadium on the Indiana University campus.
