Indianapolis, IN - There will be some familiar voices behind the mike when Indiana University men's basketball kicks-off its regular season November 25th. Veteran announcer Don Fischer returns for his 30th season as voice of the Hoosiers. And, former IU guard Todd Leary is back for his second season with color commentary.Fischer is the radio play-by-play voice of Indiana University football and basketball game broadcasts. In addition, he hosts the weekly coaches talk shows for both football and basketball and has a daily show, Monday through Friday, from September through March, called I.U. Sport Today, that is syndicated throughout Indiana. Fischer also does free lance sportscasting. During his 29 years of work with Indiana University, Fischer has been named Indiana Sportscaster of the Year 22 times. Fischer has broadcasts more than 1,200 IU games that include six Bowl games, three NCAA basketball Championship games and the N.I.T. Championship.
Leary, a former IU basketball player, returns for his second year as the color analyst for Hoosier basketball. Leary played for the Hoosiers from 1989-94 and was a member of the 1992 Final Four team.
The Indiana University men's basketball broadcasts air on the Indiana University Hoosier Radio Network, operated by Learfield Sports. In the Indianapolis area, all men's basketball broadcasts can be heard on WFBQ (Q95). Outside the Indianapolis area, fans can tune into any one of these 47 affiliate radio stations:
