Philadelphia, Penn. - The No. 11 Indiana Hoosiers dropped their second straight heartbreaker Saturday afternoon, falling 71-64 to the Temple Owls.

Freshman Bracey Wright led all IU scorers with 17 points and 10 rebounds.

Indiana had a five-point advantage coming out of the locker room after halftime but were unable to maintain that gap throughout the final stanza. The majority of the second half remained in the Owls' favor but the Hoosiers battled back from the deficit when freshman Bracey Wright hit a deep three-pointer to give the Hoosiers a one-point advantage.

Wright attempted to tie the game from beyond the three-point line with just 10 seconds remaining in the game, but the shot was just off. Temple held on, scoring four more points before the final buzzer sounded to take the score to its final, 71-64.

Wright continued his streak of double-figure efforts, scoring in double figures in each of IU's 10 contests this season.

The senior trio of Kyle Hornsby, Jeff Newton and Tom Coverdale combined for a solid effort for IU. Hornsby added 12 points to the effort while Newton chipped in 11 of his own. Coverdale chipped in nine points on three baskets from beyond the arc, all of them coming in the first half.

With just eight rebounds, Newton's streak of six-straight double-doubles was snapped by the Owls on Saturday.

The Hoosiers fall to 4-4 in the all-time series with the Owls and to an 8-2 record on the 2002-03 season.

Indiana next faces Ball State in Muncie, Ind. on New Year's Eve, Jan. 31 at 6 p.m.
