Coach Heisler Says...
"I feel pretty confident going into this meet. If we do what we are suppose to do we should be in good shape. But, you never know what can happen. I felt confident going into last year's meet and then some things did not fall our way. Our goal is to win the Big Ten Championship and I can say that I will be disappointed if we do not reach that goal."
In just three years, Randy Heisler has made history as the head coach of Indiana women's track and field. Since he began in 1999, the Hoosiers have reclaimed their place at the top of the Big Ten Conference and positioned themselves to grow as a national powerhouse. As he enters his fourth season, Heisler aims for Indiana to continue to dominate the Big Ten in its pursuit of a national team title.
Indiana is the first team to win both the indoor and outdoor title since Michigan in 1998 and the first team to win back-to-back outdoor titles since Wisconsin in 1996-97. All of Indiana's outdoor titles have come under Heisler.

Just How Fast is Carruthers
Danielle Carruthers time of 7.92 in the 60-Meter Hurdles, which she set on the exact track she will compete for a Big Ten crown on, is the fastest time ever by a collegiate hurdler. The time ranks fourth in the world this year. Carruthers has her eyes on the American record of 7.81 which was set by Jackie Joyner-Kersee in 1989.
Points Record Could Fall
Indiana set the record for points scored at the 2000 conference meet with 150 and the Hoosiers did it by winning just one event.
