Hoosiers Prepare For Home Opener
The weekend has come and gone – but someone forgot to tell the Hoosier women’s soccer team it was ever here. They practiced over the weekend, morning and evening practices, stopping only for Mother Nature and her lightning and thunderstorm that arrived in Bloomington Sunday morning. By Sunday afternoon the team was back on the field, preparing for Wednesday’s exhibition matchup with Valparaiso.Though practice is challenging, the team doesn’t seem to mind. Anxious to learn the philosophy and style of play that head coach Mick Lyon is implementing, they ask questions as to how to run plays and get immediate answers. The sentiment across the board from the team is that practice is tough, but challenging.
The players do not mind the intensity of practice and are instead glad for the expectation the coaching staff expects of them.
The Hoosiers open their season Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. at Armstrong Stadium against Valparaiso. If preseason practice can be the indicator, they will definitely be ready to face the Crusaders.
