End of Camp Approaches Rapidly

Bloomington, Ind. - With the season opener only eight days away, the Indiana football team is now beginning to get a taste of its first opponent.
Drills have been incorporated into practice that are geared toward simulating what William & Mary will throw at Indiana, and the Hoosiers have continued to demonstrate the ability to make plays.
No player on the offensive side of the ball has played as well as wide receiver Glenn Johnson of late. In Friday's practice, Johnson made a spectacular one-handed touchdown catch in down the right sideline against tight coverage from cornerback Damien Jones.
Jones made a remarkable play of his own earlier in the practice, lunging to pick off a pass that was off the receiver's fingertips then tipped to the side by Jones, who then sprawled out to make the interception.
Both Jones and Johnson made spectacular plays, but it was the consistently solid performance of running back Brian Lewis that carried the offense on Friday. Lewis broke one run all the way in seven-on-seven drills.
The majority of practice, however, was dedicated to special teams.
The Hoosiers worked for well over an hour on field goals, punts and kickoffs, with kicker Bryan Robertson booming one particularly long field goal from inside the hash marks.
Indiana battles William & Mary to open the season at 4 p.m. on August 31 at Memorial Stadium.
