8/27/2002 12:00:00 AM | Track and Field
Three Indiana men's track and field athletes - Chris Powers (distance), Patrick Miller (javelin) and Wasyl Fedoriw (throws) - have been named to the National Collegiate Division I Track Coaches Association All-Academic team. To qualify, an athlete must be nominated by their coach and have at least a 3.10 grade point average. Nationally, only Weber State (5), Kansas State and Missouri (4 each) had as many honorees as the Hoosiers.
Miller finished second in the Big Ten in the javelin last spring (221-1). Powers redshirted during the 2002 outdoor campaign but finished 12th in the NCAA 5,000 meters during the indoor season. Fedoriw competed in the shot put, discus and hammer throw for Indiana.
