BASIC FIELD HOCKEY QUESTIONS:
1) How many players compete on the field at one time (from one team)?

3) What happens when a field player prevents a sure goal? - This same penalty happens when the goalie covers the ball preventing a goal.
4) Can a field player use both sides of the stick?
5) What is the substitution process?
a. The team that wants to substitute needs to call a time-out
b. Any team can sub on the fly - by using a substitution card at the scorers table
c. A team can only substitute during a dead ball
6) How many time outs does each team get during a game?
7) How long is an overtime period?
8) How many players are on the field during an overtime period?
9) What are the dimensions of a field hockey field?
10) Is field hockey strictly a female sport?
11) In field hockey, is there an offside rule?
12) Teams line up in various formations on the field, name one.
13) What happens when the defensive team causes a penalty inside the offensive circle?
14) How does the beginning of the game start? - The second half also begins this way.
15) How far from the end line is the penalty stroke line?
16) What is the name of the hit (or pass) when a player's hands are together at the top of the stick? - This is also the most powerful hit in field hockey.
17) What is the most commonly used pass among teammates?
