Noonan Honored By Big Ten (09-16-02)

Bloomington, Ind. - Indiana men's soccer player Pat Noonan picked up Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week honors the league office announced Monday. Noonan led the Hoosiers to a 3-0 record last week as he scored two goals and an assist and was named Offensive MVP of the Butler SoccerFest.
Noonan, a senior co-captain, scored a goal in the Hoosiers' 2-0 shutout of Louisville last Tuesday and then tallied the game-winner against Hartwick on Sunday. He also assisted on one of IU's goals against Air Force. The two-time All-American took 13 shots last week, eight of which were on goal. He currently ranks first in shots attempted (32) and in the top 10 in points (8), goals (3) and assists (2) among all players in the Big Ten Conference.
Michgan State goalkeeper Tyler Robinson was named Defensive Player of the Week.
Indiana stands at 4-1-2 on the season heading into this weekend's Big Ten Conference opener on Sunday, Sept. 22, against MSU. Game time is set for 1:30 p.m. (Indiana time) in East Lansing, Mich.
