Bloomington, Ind. - The honors continue to come in for the Indiana men’s soccer team. Hoosier senior Ryan Mack was one of 11 players selected to College Soccer News’ National Team of the Week. In addition, five Hoosier players were selected to the all-tournament squad at the Butler University Soccer Fest after Indiana posted a 2-0 record. Mack, seniors Pat Noonan, Phil Presser, John Swann and sophomore Jay Nolly were honored for their outstanding play.
Mack and Noonan garnered all-tournament honors after leading the Hoosiers’ scoring attack. Mack was responsible for both of IU’s goals in a 2-0 victory over Air Force. Noonan provided the assist on one of Mack’s scores and the game-winning goal against Hartwick. He was named the event’s Offensive MVP.
Swann, Presser and Nolly anchored the Hoosier defense to its third straight shutout and fourth of the season. Nolly, the Hoosiers’ goalkeeper, recorded a career-high four saves against Air Force and was named the tournament Defensive MVP.
Indiana’s season record now stands at 4-1-2 and the Hoosiers will open Big Ten Conference play at Michigan State on Sunday, Sept. 22, at 1:30 p.m. (Indiana time).
