Second of Four in Series
Former Hoosier All-American Michele Redman is set to begin her second Solheim Cup for Team USA this weekend. Beginning on Friday, Team USA, made up of 13 members of the LPGA Tour, will face off against the European Team at Interlachen Country Club in Minneapolis, MN.
The Solheim Cup, a biennial, trans-Atlantic team match-play event sponsored by Karsten Manufacturing, features the top U.S.-born players from the LPGA and the top European-born players from the Ladies European Tour.
Redman, who played at Indiana from 1984-87, competed in the 2000 Solheim Cup, but did not score any points. The former Hoosier now calls Minneapolis, Minn. her home, which makes her the local favorite.
