Courtney Roby's opening Statement:
"We have a lot to take from the last game, we fought real hard, especially in the second half. Going into Columbus next week is going to be a dog fight, it is going to be an intense situation, but I am looking forward to the challenge."
Q: Assess were the offense is right now.
CR: "Offense has taken a definite stride toward the positive. I think that we are starting to jell a lot more. I think that with the running attack and the air attack, it's not really one key thing that people can really focus on. I think that we are all starting to jell a lot better."
Q: What has been the biggest problem holding you guys back in scoring points?
CR: "Well, coach DiNardo obviously emphasizes that when we get into the red zone, we have to lock our jaw a little bit more. I think we improved on that against Central Michigan, I think that we went 3-for-3 in the red zone. So we are making strides towards the positive, but we still have to concentrate more."
Q: In the beginning of the season, coach talked about wide receivers having a certain attitude - have you guys developed that type of attitude?
CR: "I think so. Since the very beginning coach has said that he has wanted us to be the best receiving corps in the Big Ten. And we are not going to stop until we get there. I think that that is the attitude of wide receivers. I think that we have made strides to improve, it was a new offense coming in and there was some adapting on our part, but I think that we've taken that well."
Q: Ohio State has a great pair of safeties - does that pose a problem to you as a wide receiver?
CR: "They do have (Mike) Doss and everything, they do have three top safeties, and they will probably try to double team a lot, but all that does is open up the running game. Like I said, with the running game in tact and the passing game in tact I feel it's not just one thing that will cause a problem."
Q: Talk about how you and Glenn (Johnson) feed off of each other.
CR: "We try to feed off of our energy toward one another. When he is having a good day I try to match that and when I'm having a good day he tries to match that. We feed off of each other's energy and off of each other's improvements in the game."
Q: What has been the difference for you the last couple of games?
CR: "I just try to make plays every game and try to improve off of my last game. I just try to get better every game."
Q: What is the biggest change from last year to this year as far as this team is concerned?
CR: "I think that we are a lot more tough, in a sense. Coach DiNardo tries to emphasize the fact that mental toughness is the key to winning. I think that everybody has bought into that."
Q: Where has this offense made the best improvement over the last couple of weeks?
CR: "I would probably say in the red zone area. That was one of our down falls earlier in the season, we weren't consistent when we got down to the red zone. Like I said, last week we went 3-for-3."
Q: Talk about the atmosphere of Ohio State.
CR: "This will be my first time in Columbus and I am looking forward to the challenge. I heard it is very loud, the atmosphere I heard was crazy. So I am looking forward to it and just competing."
Q: What do you attribute the turnovers to, is it a lack of concentration, communication?
CR: "I guess it would be a combination of both, I really can't speak about the turnover situation. I would say that it is a lack of concentration and communication."
Q: As a wide receiver is it an adjustment to work with different quarterbacks?
CR: "Tommy and Gibran both have different styles, but they are both our quarterbacks."
Q: Last week Gibran talked about the quiet unity - do you see that in regards to overall change in attitude?
CR: "I think that the team unity is getting a lot better. It was definitely a different situation and different atmosphere when we had to switch coaches, but I think that everybody has bought into it. As coach DiNardo said, we all have to buy into it, and I think that it is starting to show a little bit more each game"
