Three Preseason All-Americans (09-06-02)

Bloomington, Ind. - A trio of seniors on the Indiana men's soccer team have been named Preseason All-America by College Soccer News. Forward Pat Noonan and forward/midfielder Ryan Mack are members of the first team while defender John Swann is a second-team selection.
Noonan and Mack have both earned All-America honors while at IU while Swann is getting his first mention. Noonan was a second-team All-American in 2000 and then garnered first-team honors in 2001. Mack was an All-American as a junior in 2000, but did not play last season after tearing his ACL. Swann, who will co-captain the Hoosiers this season along with Noonan, is a two-time first-team All-Big Ten defender.
The publication released three teams comprised of 11 players each. IU is the only team with two first-team representatives and also has the most selections overall with three.
No. 4 Indiana (0-0-2) will battle for its first win of the season Friday against William and Mary at the St. John's Classic in Jamaica, N.Y. The contest kicks off at 5 p.m. (Indiana time) at the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy. IU will also take on o. 15St. John's on Saturday at 7 p.m. (Indiana time) in a rematch of the 2001 national semifinal.
