Schlukebir and Tran Advance to Quarterfinals

Kalamazoo, Mich. – Indiana continued main draw doubles action at the ITA Midwest Championships on Saturday, Oct. 25 with seniors Karie Schlukebir and Linda Tran advancing to the quarterfinals.
Schlukebir and Tran, the No. 2 seed, defeated the 9-16 seed, Jamie Peisel and Alexis Prousis of Northwestern, 8-2 to advance to the quarterfinals. In the quarterfinal, the duo will face the 5-8 seed, Lauren Connelly and Alicia Salas of Notre Dame.
Junior Dora Vastag and freshman Laura McGaffigan, a 9-16 seed, fell 8-5 in the Round of 16 to Frederika Girsang and Valeria Stoilova of Western Michigan, a 5-8 seed.
Doubles action continues on Sunday, Oct. 26 with the quarterfinals beginning at 9 a.m., and the main singles draw round of 16 begins at noon.
