Two Hoosier Doubles Move on

East Lansing, Mich.— Two of the three Hoosiers double teams advanced to the round of 16 on Saturday afternoon. The tandem of Ryan Recht and John Stone downed their opponents, Matt Maver and Octavian Nicodim of the University of Louisville, 9-7. Dmytro Ishtuganov and Neil Kenner also won in their bracket defeating Xavier’s Brad Meadors and Justin Yeager, 8-6. Tom Bagnato and David Bubenicek fell to Michigan States’ Mike Brown and Anthony Stefani, 8-4.
Ryan Recht and Ryan McCarthy both fell in the main singles draw. Recht lost a tough battle to the No. 7 seed Andrew Formanczyk of Michigan State, 3-6, 6-4, 6-4. McCarthy, who qualified yesterday for today’s main draw slipped to No. 2 seed Mike Calkins of Illinois, 6-0,6-2.
