IU Suffers Tough Loss

Bloomington, Ind. - The No. 20 Indiana field hockey team lost 2-1 to No. 8 Penn State on Friday, Oct. 3. The Hoosiers move to 5-3 overall and 0-2 in the Big Ten.
The Hoosiers capitalized early as freshman Lydia Schrott scored her fourth goal of the season on a rebound off a penalty corner. Penn State answered back with two goals before the half.
Indiana has several opportunities on in the second half, but was unable to put one in the back of the net.
Indiana head coach Amy Robertson was proud of the way the teamed played, and believes they are moving forward.
"I am proud of the way we played tonight," said Robertson. "I am disappointed for the girls. They played hard and believed we could win, and never stopped playing. We had set out several goals for this game, and we accomplished all of them. We wanted to play smart and I think we did that. I am especially proud of the way sophomore Morgan Albini and Lydia played. I think this was their best performance yet."
Indiana finished the game with 11 shots, one more shot than Penn State and six penalty corners, one more than Penn State.
Indiana next plays Kent State on Sunday, Oct.5 at 1 p.m. in Mellencamp Pavilion.
