Indiana In Seventh At The Landfall Tradition

Wilmington, N.C. - The No. 33 Indiana women's golf team, in the final tournament of the fall, sits in seventh place after the first round of play at the Landfall Tradition. The Hoosiers shot a first round 305, just five strokes behind No. 18 Tulane in second place with a 300. The No. 5-ranked New Mexico leads the field after a first round 291.
Senior Karen Dennison led the way for Indiana with a first round 73. Dennison is in a four-way tie for ninth place, just four strokes behind the leader, Kailin Downs of New Mexico at 69.
Senior Danah Ford shot a 75 for a four-way tie for 14th place.
Other Hoosiers competing are sophomore Molly Redfearn who is tied for 26th after an opening round 78. Junior Bethany Brunner shot a first round 79 to tie her career low 18. Brunner sits in a tie for 33rd place. Sophomore Lissa Putnam had an opening round 81 for a tie in 43rd place.
Indiana will tee it off at 7:45 on Saturday, Nov. 1. The Hoosiers will be paired in the second round with Big Ten rival Wisconsin and Florida State.
