The Indiana University men's soccer team has advanced to the NCAA College Cup (soccer's equivalent of the Final Four) for the 16th time in the 31-year history of the program. The Hoosiers take on Santa Clara in the national semifinals on Friday, Dec. 12 in Columbus, Ohio, at Crew Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. The other semifinal match-up pits No. 6 St. John's and No. 2 Maryland at 5 p.m.
Indiana's Road to the College Cup: IU was seeded No. 8 in this year's NCAA Tournament and advanced to the College Cup with a 2-1 double overtime victory over Kentucky in the second round, a 5-0 shutout of No. 9-seed Virginia Commonwealth in the third round and a 2-1 triumph over No. 1 seed and defending national champion UCLA in the NCAA Quarterfinals.
Ticket Information: The 2003 NCAA Men's College Cup is being co-hosted by Ohio State University and Major League Soccer's Columbus Crew. The IU Athletics Ticket Office has a two-session ticket available (includes both Friday's and Sunday's games) for $40 per person. Call toll free 1-866-IUSPORTS to order.
Tickets can also be purchased at Crew Stadium box office at 1-877-CREW-FAN or 614-431-3600. Fans can request to buy tickets in Indiana's section.
Television: The Indiana-Santa Clara semifinal match will be broadcast tape-delayed on Saturday, Dec. 13, at 4:30 p.m. on ESPN2. Sunday's championship game, which is at 2 p.m., will air live on ESPN2. Rob Stone (play-by-play), John Harks (color commentary) and Ellen Weinberg (sideline) make up the talent crew.
Radio: Bloomington radio station WGCL 1370 AM will carry all Indiana games live. Chicago Fire play-by-play announcer Chris Doran and former IU player and assistant Sean Phillips call the action. Bloomington community access cable will also carry the audio from the radio broadcast (Channel 3 or 12 on Insight Cable).
In addition, fans can listen live on the internet. A link to the broadcast will be available at IUHOOSIERS.COM. Just click on the link on the men's soccer page and it will take you to the Teamline broadcast instructions.
The IU student radio station, WIUS 1570 AM, will also carry the game. The station's web site is www.wius.org.
Travel and Lodging: Indiana departs for Columbus by charter bus on the afternoon of Wednesday, Dec. 10. IU will be staying at the Hyatt on Capital Square, located at 75 E. State Street.
Press Conference and Practice: On Thursday, Dec. 11, Indiana will walk through at Crew Stadium from 2:30 to 3 p.m. Head coach Jerry Yeagley and selected student-athletes will also participate in a press conference from 3:30 to 4 p.m. at the Woody Hayes Center on the Ohio State campus and then hold a full team practice from 4:15 to 5:45 p.m. at Jesse Owens Stadium.
Pre-Game Tailgate in Columbus
Join the action before the NCAA College Cup as the IU Alumni Association, IU Athletics, and the IU Alumni Club of Columbus, Ohio host an IU pre-game tailgate party prior to Friday's game (officially beginning two-hours before the match) at 5:30 p.m. The tailgate party will be located on the east side of Crew Stadium. Admission is free, but alumni are asked to bring tailgate party food to share with other fans. The IU cheerleaders and pep-band will also perform at the event.
If IU reaches the Championship Game, fans can join the tailgate party again on Sunday, December 14, at 12 p.m., at the same location as above. IU would face the winner of the Maryland vs. St. John's semifinal. The Championship match is set for Sunday at 2:00 p.m.

Indiana and the NCAA College Cup: Indiana is making its 28th appearance in the NCAA Tournament and has now advanced to the College Cup for the 16th time in the 31-year history of the program. IU sports an overall NCAA tourney record to 66-22 (.747). The Hoosiers are 16-10 in College Cup matches, including an 11-4 record semifinal matches and a 5-6 mark in national championship games.
