IU to Host Iowa

Bloomington, Ind. - Indiana (16-10, 6-7) returns to Assembly Hall for its final homestand of the season, starting March 1 at 7 p.m. against Iowa (14-10, 6-7). Dave Barnett and Tim McCormick will be on the call for ESPN, as will Don Fischer, Todd Leary and Joe Smith for the statewide Indiana Basketball Radio Network.Indiana is looking to bounce back from the most decisive defeat of the head coach Mike Davis Era, an 80-54 loss at No. 16 Illinois on Feb. 25. The Illini posted a 41-24 rebounding advantage, also the most decisive rebounding effort by an IU opponent in the Davis Era. The Hoosiers shot 50 percent from three-point range in the first half hit just 4-of-12 three-pointers and made just eight field goals the entire second half.
The Hoosiers close out the regular season with two of their final three games at home. After the Iowa game, Minnesota visits on March 4 (7:00 p.m., ESPN). The Hoosiers are looking to extend their 12-game home winning streak in the month of March. IU has not lost at home in March since March 10, 1990, a 69-63 loss to then-No. 20 Illinois.

• Jeff Newton is tied with Alan Henderson for first on Indiana's career block list (213).
• This marks the fifth straight year that IU's strength of schedule is among the top eight in the nation according to Sagarin Ratings.
• The 2002-03 season marks the golden anniversary of Indiana's 1953 national championship, and that team will be recognized in a special halftime ceremony on Saturday.
