GAME #4ALABAMA VS. INDIANA
MARCH 21, 2003
INDIANA COACH'S QUOTES
HEAD COACH Mike Davis
General Comments:
"I haven't slept since Sunday. Whenever you play against a former school you want to do well. We played hard in the second half. In the first half, I think the guys were a little tight - I was tight. I've been tight the last three or four days at practice. I just wanted to win the game awfully bad."
On Alabama:
"That's a very good basketball team in Alabama. After watching Alabama on tape, I think tonight was the best game they played in a long time. They really played defense well tonight - they chased cutters, they stepped out on second screens, they got to the ball. We were fortunate that (Tom) Coverdale in the first half kind of took us on our back and carried us."
On halftime speech:
"I got on them pretty good at half. I just challenged them to come out and fight because Mark had his team well prepared. What we wanted to do was try to come out and try to get Dudley and Walker in foul trouble. I thought we did a great job in the second half of protecting the basket."
